Since 2018, DNS Belgium shows a picture of a missing child on its 'Page not found' web page (also known as a 404-page). In doing so, we want to support Child Focus in the search for missing children. Do you also want to help Child Focus on your website? You can easily do so via the Notfound web application.
How does it work?
Whenever someone tries to view a non-existent page on www.dnsbelgium.be, he or she will see a picture of a missing child. In some cases, aging software has been used because the child has unfortunately been without trace for years. Here is an example of a 404-page:
Give your 404-page a better purpose
Thousands of children go missing in the European Union alone. Child Focus can really use your help. By installing the notfound.org application, a photograph of a missing child is automatically shown on every 404-page of your website. Since the launch, more than 5,750 websites have already used Notfound.
How do you install the application?
Installing the notfound.org application is very easy:
- Go to notfound.org.
- Click ‘Yes, I’ll make better use of my 404 page.’
- Enter your details.
- Click 'Next'.
- Indicate the right server if necessary.
- Click ‘Replace your current 404-page by our page’ Or paste the code in your existing 404-page.
It's as simple as that! And in this way your website also contributes to finding missing children.
