There are several situations in which you cannot request a transfer code for a domain name:
Your domain name is on hold
When a domain name is on hold, legal proceedings are pending about that domain name.
Your domain name is blocked
If your domain name is blocked, you cannot request a transfer code online. This also means that someone else cannot launch a transfer of this domain name via our site.
A .be domain name is blocked:
- in case of legal proceedings or court order,
- because an alternative dispute resolution procedure was initiated via CEPANI,
- Because there are doubts as to the identity of the person requesting the transfer and whether he or she is the real registrant ,
- a transfer lock is still active for the domain name.
If your domain name was transferred without your knowledge or consent, you can report it to DNS Belgium. A legal evaluation will be conducted, after which we may decide to undo the transfer.
-
A transfer block means that the registrar has blocked the domain name for transfer. This can only take place at the registrant’s explicit request.
-
1. Did you request the lock at your registrar or webmaster? Ask them to unlock it so you can request the transfer code again.
2. Did your registrar or webmaster automatically set the lock for you? Log into the customer panel and deactivate this option yourself, so that you can then request the code again. If that doesn't work, contact your registrar or webmaster to lift the lock.
